Texas Longhorns

New head coach Chris Beard clearly isn’t playing games at Texas, having already brought in five high-profile transfers. They include former five-star guard Devin Askew, forwards Dylan Disu, Christian Bishop, and Timmy Allen, along with UMass transfer Tre Mitchell. But they still have some open room for another big piece such as Carr.

It’s true that guards Courtney Ramey and Andrew Jones are also on the roster from the previous coaching staff but Coach Beard has no issue over-recruiting if a potentially better option is available. If you’re Carr, you’d be joining a team with a ton of firepower throughout the lineup, which takes the pressure off yourself and won’t be dealing with double-teams all night. And if he picks this option, the Longhorns may have the case to be the No. 1 team for the 2021-22 season.

UConn Huskies

Star guard and leading scorer James Bouknight is off to the NBA as a projected lottery pick and the team has yet to replace him, as one of just a few programs among the top seven conferences to not add a single transfer this offseason. It’s never too late to add one and Carr could be the game-changer to put them in a position to challenge Villanova at the top of the Big East.

RJ Cole was the team’s starting point guard last season, leading them with 4.3 apg. But I think that Carr would benefit from playing off the ball some and allowing someone else to handle the point guard duties. It would allow the Minnesota transfer to showcase something different for the scouts and when he has the ball, Cole shoots 39% from three-point range himself so the fit would be very good. And head coach Dan Hurley has a good reputation with guard development and could do good work with Carr.
