4. Scottie Barnes – Florida State Seminoles

Scottie Barnes was one of the most underrated college basketball players last season. He made an immediate impact with Florida State. Barnes is excelling as a playmaker and rebounding.

He’s only 19 years old but, Barnes has the potential to be a lot better than prospects drafted higher than him. He’s the perfect role player that will fit well with any team that picks him.

Last season, Barnes averaged 10 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 4.1 assists per game. He also shot 50 percent from the field in 24 games played.

I expect Scottie Barnes to be a lottery pick. I see the Toronto Raptors as a great fit for him. He’s exactly the player that Coach Nick Nurse would develop into an all-star. Barnes is a 6-foot-7 forward and can guard multiple positions. I believe Barnes will mesh well sharing minutes with Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby.

3. Jalen Suggs – Gonzaga Bulldogs

Jalen Suggs is a great decision-maker. He has a very basketball IQ which any team will benefit from. He can control the court on both sides of the ball which is very rare to see so early into a player’s career. His elite passing, playmaking, and finishing allow him to be one of the most talented basketball players in this class.

He was arguably the best college basketball player last season especially come late March. Suggs led the Gonzaga Bulldogs to a historic run in the NCAA tournament. College basketball fans will never forget his buzzer-beater in Overtime of the Final Four against UCLA. Suggs’ table jump celebration mimicked Michael Jordan which took the basketball world by storm.

Last season, Suggs collected several college basketball accolades and averaged 14.4 points per game in 30 games played.

He is a player that a lot of NBA fans and basketball fans, in general, should be excited about no matter where he is playing. Although he is only 20 years old, he is very mature as a basketball player. Suggs does not need as much development as others in his class which makes him stand out to scouts.

I expect Jalen Suggs to get picked within the first three picks. I would not be surprised if the Houston Rockets take Suggs and he becomes their long-term point guard for the future. I think Coach Stephen Silas would have a lot to be happy about with Suggs. The Rockets would be getting a clutch performer who will play at the highest level every night. This is something Rockets fans are very used to with James Harden leading them for several years.
