Arizona State Sun Devils

The entire backcourt has been revamped this offseason, with a trio of transfers and Luther Muhammad to lead the way next season. MAC Player of the Year Marreon Jackson will be around for one year, while transfers Jay Heath and DJ Horne could be around for multiple years.

Last season was overall a disappointment for the Sun Devils, including former five-star shooting guard prospect Joshua Christopher. He still ended up in the first round of the recent NBA Draft (No. 24 overall) but he definitely underachieved while in college. Sharpe is a different kind of player and has some local roots in the state but Arizona State isn’t on the greatest of grounds after this past rough team campaign.

Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks went from having a questionable backcourt this offseason to one of the best, with Arizona State point guard Remy Martin joining, along with All-Big 12 guard Ochai Agbaji coming back as well for his senior season. And 7th-year transfer Jalen Coleman-Lands adds even more depth to the program as well.

All three will be gone for next season, which is why the program is aggressively targeting a backcourt star in the 2022 class, after already landing four-star commits, Gradey Dick and Gradey Dick. Five-star wing prospect Mark Mitchell may be more likely of a get than Sharpe, which could have the Jayhawks more focused on his recruitment than this one. And while it’s looking more and more likely that they won’t suffer major consequences from the past alleged recruiting issues, the NCAA may punish Kansas after all, which would affect a one-and-done recruit such as Sharpe.
