Returning key pieces

The returns for the Tigers are ones that everyone should be excited about. The most anticipated return has to be Allen Flanigan, who is heading into his junior season. Flanigan took a huge leap in his sophomore season with an average of 14.3 points on 45 percent shooting. He finally gained the trust of his team and took over the wing position perfectly. Flanigan will only look to elevate as a team player as this season rolls around.

Other returns for the Tigers include Devan Cambridge, Chris Moore, Jaylin Williams, Dylan Cardwell, and Babatunde Akingbola. The beneficial part for the returning players is that most of them have at least two seasons of college-level experience. They will be known as veteran players who can help the incoming players and show them the ropes with how to adjust to the culture of the program. Communication is key for the Tigers and everyone needs to make sure they’re on the same page.

Expectations

It’s clear that the Auburn Tigers want to have a better season compared to last year. There were so many distractions along with lineup changes that prevented the team from succeeding. This season is a clean slate for the team to take control and look to surprise the SEC with their potential dominance on the floor.

The key players that will need to set the tone are Allen Flanigan and Wendell Green Jr. while Flanigan is coming off of a terrific season a year ago, Green will become the leader on the floor who will set the tone on both scoring and distributing. As both of these players can lead the charge for the Tigers this season, they could potentially be in place for a terrific season in front of them.
