NCAA Basketball: Analyzing top-75 guard Collin Chandler final 6 teams
Gonzaga Bulldogs
Head coach Mark Few does have history with players taking two-year missions, including Jesse Wade from a couple of years ago. That didn’t work out well but they’re hoping for better results with Chandler, who could be a version of recent WCC Player of the Year Corey Kispert.
If Chandler wants to come to Gonzaga, the 2024 class would have to be the route since the backcourt is currently so crowded. They’re also in play to land five-star guard prospect Anthony Black for the 2022 group as well. But by the time Chandler would come back, Andrew Nembhard, Rasir Bolton, Hunter Sallis, and potentially Black would all be gone. And this is a program that not only guarantees a player a Sweet 16 appearance, but also quality development.
Oregon Ducks
The Ducks and head coach Dana Altman currently has a player just coming off a mission in top-50 recruit Isaac Johnson. The program also is one of the best on the west coast and just sent Chris Duarte to the lottery of the NBA Draft.
Oregon would love to get a class of 2024 commit, as the entire backcourt currently could be gone by the time Chandler would arrive. Will Richardson is an upperclassman, along with transfers De’Vion Harmon and Jacob Young. And then there’s also five-star class of 2022 commit Dior Johnson, who’ll certainly be gone by 2024. Landing Chandler would be huge for the Ducks to help check off one box on the roster.
