Pittsburgh Panthers

The Panthers are hoping to build on its 2022 class after landing top-100 combo guard Judah Mintz. Skillings would be the wing the program needed after losing both Au’Diese Toney and Justin Champagnie this offseason. They did land three-star small forward Nate Santos in the 2021 class but it likely won’t affect Skillings in terms of potential playing time.

In fact, this would be where the top-100 recruit in question could primarily play at shooting guard. Senior Nike Sibande will be gone, along with potentially Texas Tech transfer Jamarius Burton. Sophomore Femi Odukale will be around to lead the offense and along with Mintz, Skillings can be part of a new core and be a focal point of the offense for a team that’ll be looking for some after losing a ton of offensive production.

Virginia Tech Hokies

The potential backcourt logjam for the Hokies has been eased a bit by the departure of guard Tyrece Radford this offseason. That leaves rising junior Nahiem Alleyne as the penciled-in starter, while former top-100 guard Darius Maddox will either find his way into a rotation spot or not be much of a factor in teams of playing time going forward.

Virginia Tech landed top-150 guard MJ Collins in the 2022 class but has been looking to land a key perimeter player in the 2022 class. With Keve Aluma and Justyn Mutts set to leave after next season, the backcourt for this team will go back to being the focal point of the scoring production. That works for Skillings, who’d be the elite scoring option for the Hokies that they haven’t had since Landers Nolley.
