Louisville Cardinals

Could the Louisville Cardinals really go after Hopkins after he left them jilted last time around? Things have changed at the program and both sides should be able to look at the situation with new eyes.

The new coach at Louisville is one with plenty of Kentucky ties, Kenny Payne, who comes over from the New York Knicks. After Chris Mack’s underwhelming tenure, Payne will look to energize the fans right away.

Bringing over a former Wildcat would certainly light up Louisville Twitter. Meanwhile, Hopkins can find more playing time at a school across the way and redeem himself in the eyes of Cardinals Nation.

Providence Friars

Providence was one of the schools who offered Hopkins a scholarship the first time around. The time is right for Ed Cooley to try to reel in the forward once more.

After a Sweet Sixteen appearance, the Friars are going to need to rebuild a little bit. Nate Watson, Noah Horchler, and Al Durham are out of eligibility. Justin Minaya appears to be gone too after saying he would not use his extra year and pursue a professional path.

Providence is more likely to be a bubble team than anything else next year, but there will be an opportunity for Hopkins to step in and be a difference-maker quickly, perhaps elevating the team to a more clear-cut NCAA Tournament path.
