Jay Wright as a broadcaster?

Wright told everyone that he wants to focus on his retirement for a while spend some time with his family and grandkids and not focus on basketball for once over the last 38 years. I like many others do not think this is the last we will see of Wright in Basketball. He is not going to ever coach again, that we can be sure of. What will happen is that he will likely try his hand at broadcasting.

The coach has said himself that after he enjoys retirement for a while, he also would like to delve into the broadcasting world. There is not a network in the country that would not hire him as an analyst. Everyone at the network would love to have a coach with the knowledge and pedigree of Wright on the microphone in the studio. His knowledge is immense, and he would provide an honest review of the game and the coaches.

The rumors of him trying to pursue a career in broadcasting come directly from Andy Katz as he claimed to have spoken to the coach and said that after he rests and recovers, he would like to consider a career in broadcasting.

I would not expect coach Wright to begin his broadcasting career for a least a year and it looks more like it is a five-year plan. This, like most things, the more time that passes the least likely it is that he will ever be in Basketball again and by all accounts the interviews with Jay Wright that is okay. He is at peace with what he accomplished, he built Villanova into a consistent winner and did it the right way.

Next. 3 takeaways from Jay Wright's sudden retirement. dark

He is a personable guy who gets the most out of his players and treats them like his own kids. He will be missed in Basketball but never forgotten. Jay Wright went out just like he built the Villanova program the right way, with very little fanfare.
