Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Bulldogs have a new head coach in Chris Jans and have a complete rebuilding job for the roster, now that leading scorer Iverson Molinar is officially moving on to the pro ranks. So far, the team has landed Oregon State transfer Dashawn Davis and New Mexico State forward Will McNair but has plenty of work to do in the offseason.

The one selling point Mississippi State can offer Scheierman is that they can offer him the starring role in the offense and can put up some big numbers for an SEC program. The problem will be that unless the team can add several new pieces, Scheierman would be risking going from a 30-win team that went unbeaten in Summit League play to one that could be a doormat in the SEC.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

As the other “local” option for Scheierman, Nebraska isn’t as good as Creighton talent-wise but they are a Big Ten program and considered the big school in the state. This is also a program that already landed a star from the Summit League in Sam Griesel, a 6’5 guard that averaged around 15 ppg at North Dakota State.

Adding Scheierman would boost the Cornhuskers‘ offensive potential but the defense could be a big problem. And if that happens, then the team’s odds of making the NCAA Tournament will remain low. If playing on a postseason team matters, Nebraska could struggle to make up ground in this recruitment despite being a home option.
