What Nance Would Bring to North Carolina

Among the top contenders in college basketball both last season and this season, it’s rare to find a team like North Carolina that’s bringing back almost all of the talent from last season. However, the important note to make is that the addition of Nance would put them right back in the same position, as he could slide right into the role Manek played last year.

Nance is a consistent shooter and reliable scoring forward who might be an even better fit for this offense. He’s the kind of player who fits right into the offense and can do almost anything on the court, but who also provides an experienced and veteran presence. He’s always been a talented rebounder, especially on the defensive end, his blocks numbers are solid, and he shoots the ball from long range even better than Manek.

Obviously, his role with the Tar Heels would be much different than on a Northwestern team that wasn’t competitive in a strong Big Ten. He would no longer be the best player on his team, instead, he’d become one of the most important cogs on a team that would be many people’s favorites to cut down the nets next April. He would instantly give credibility to all five starting positions in this Tar Heels lineup and his presence would certainly help develop some of these younger forwards and big men.
