Kevin Miller (Wake Forest)

If we were making this list based on nicknames alone, Kevin Miller, known as Boopie, would have been a lead pipe lock to make it. As it stands, Miller’s got the name, and the game, to help get Wake Forest back to the Big Dance.

Miller only played four games last year before suffering a season-ending foot injury, but even in that limited time, he demonstrated an electric ability to take over games. His 18.5 points and 5.3 assists per game were an improvement over what was already a stellar freshman season, and now he’ll have the reins at a major conference school.

Wake Forest head coach Steve Forbes has made great use of the transfer portal in recent years, bringing aboard eventual ACC Player of the Year Alondes Williams in 2021 and eventual First Team All-ACC player Tyree Appleby in 2022. As our own Tristan Freeman wrote in March, Miller will likely be Wake’s starting point guard. And as we’ll get into shortly, he’ll team with Gonzaga transfer Hunter Sallis to form a new-look Demon Deacons backcourt that could take the ACC by surprise.
