No. 13 J.J. Starling (Syracuse)

Even after the Jim Boeheim era, Syracuse basketball has still been able to bring talent all the way to northern New York. Adrian Autry played a huge part in this team snagging J.J. Starling as a transfer, now it is time for them to get to work.

The former five-star originally played at Notre Dame for his freshman season and now like Udeh Jr. will be playing for a new squad for his sophomore season. The Baldwinsville, NY native put up 11.2 points per game last season for the Fighting Irish and will look to build upon some solid scoring as a freshman.

Starling still showed he had plenty of room to grow, and with Syracuse and Autry, he will have that room to grow for a team looking to get back to being a true player on the national level. The Orange finished 17-15 last season, but with the scoring of Starling, that record should be improved upon if things work out.

Starling looks to become more of a combo guard with Syracuse as he only averaged just over one assist per game last year, but the scoring potential is undeniable, and this sophomore season he could take a huge jump. At 6’4, 200, he has the size to make things happen, now it is the chance to play some more ACC basketball that will improve his skills as well as the Orange’s chances.
