NCAA Basketball: Top 25 impact transfer pickups from 2023 offseason
By John Makuch
No. 11 Aaron Estrada (Alabama)
The Hofstra Pride were a fun team to watch last year, especially in their overtime thriller in the NIT against Rutgers, a team that felt they should have made it to March Madness, and Aaron Estrada was a huge part of that.
Now, he makes a huge jump by transferring to a post-Brandon Miller Alabama and he comes in as a dynamic player for this program. Estrada averaged 20.2 points per game with 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists, with his scoring being good for 22nd in the nation.
Alabama was looking to make some big splashes after losing big-time pieces this offseason, and Estrada is a great piece to get the ball rolling down in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide had national championship hopes as a one-seed heading into March, and they came up short in the Sweet Sixteen.
While this team is not expected to replicate the same success, they may be pretty close to it if Estrada can bring the success he had with Hofstra to the SEC. If that can happen, then the Tide should keep on rolling in such a difficult conference, and Estrada may find himself near the top of the nation in scoring yet again.
