NCAA Basketball: Top 25 impact transfer pickups from 2023 offseason

No. 5 Kel’el Ware (Indiana)
For Oregon, losing a talented young big man like Kel’el Ware is a tough loss to deal with, but for Indiana, it was yet another gain for them in the transfer portal.
The Hoosiers and Mike Woodson make huge waves after getting a commitment from five-star Roselle Catholic recruit Mackenzie Mgbako, two four-stars in Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton, some solid transfers in Anthony Walker and Payton Sparks, and now Ware to solidify this frontcourt for the Hoosiers.
At Oregon, Ware did not get a ton of time out there on the floor for the Ducks, only playing 15.8 minutes per game this past season, participating in 35 games and starting in four. Ware will look to get the role he felt he deserved as a seven-footer and will seek improvement on his 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Indiana is another program that is trying to get back to its glory days, and with Woodson staking his claim on the transfer portal, this could be a year that gets them back on the path to being a national contender once again.
