NCAA Basketball: 8 teams that should target transfer guard Terrion Murdix
Pittsburgh Panthers
The Panthers have been trying to land a veteran ball-handler this offseason, just recently missing out on WVU transfer, Joe Toussaint. Murdix could be the last viable option for them but his injury could be a small concern for a program that’s been hampered with them for the past couple of years.
Still, Pittsburgh’s current PG options are a pair of freshmen in Dior Johnson and Jaland Lowe. And while Murdix himself isn’t a proven player at the ACC level either, the team could use one more guard just in case they lose anyone to injury. Murdix likely would be in the rotation and provide needed experience in that backcourt after losing four super seniors this offseason.
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
One coaching change that occurred this offseason was Steve Lutz going from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to Western Kentucky, replacing Rick Stansbury. So there’s always a chance that Murdix simply follows his old coach to the rebuilding program that lost a ton of production this offseason.
Already there is a former teammate in Jalen Jackson, who averaged 7.4 ppg and 2.9 apg in 35 games for the Islanders. There’s a good chance that Murdix would start there and after so many top teams left this offseason, Conference USA could be very winnable for the Hilltoppers, especially if they could possibly land another Islander to the mix.
