22. Yogi Ferrell

Rated in the Top 25 from the Class of 2012, Ferrell is a 6’0 point guard from Indianapolis who didn’t stray far from his hometown. He played four years at Indiana under Tom Crean, becoming an important weapon for the Hoosiers throughout his college career. He had significant contributions as a freshman during Indiana’s run to the Sweet Sixteen, but we’re only focusing on the events since 2013.

Well, Ferrell started all 137 games in those four seasons with the Hoosiers and averaged at least 16 points a game in those final three years. He had a 30-point performance against Illinois as a sophomore and helped get the Hoosiers back to the Big Dance as a junior. He’d average 17.3 points and 5.6 assists per game as a senior and led the Hoosiers to the Sweet Sixteen again, dropping 25 points in their loss to North Carolina in his final game.

Ferrell finished just under 2000 career points and was among the Big Ten’s best free throw shooters and ball distributors. He was First Team All-Big Ten in each of his upperclassmen seasons and also found a place on the All-Defense team as a senior. Ferrell was very involved in Indiana’s most recent sustained success, making multiple trips into the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
