21. Jarrod Uthoff

One of Iowa’s best in recent memory, Uthoff is a 6’9 forward from Cedar Rapids who stayed in his home state to star for Fran McCaffery with the Hawkeyes. His collegiate career started back in 2013 and last three years before moving on to the next level, though he gave us more than enough to work with during that time.

Uthoff was a solid contributor off the bench as a freshman, though his numbers would take off when he became a starter the next season. He averaged 12.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore, including a 20-point effort in Iowa’s second-round Tourney loss to Gonzaga. In his final season, his offensive numbers took off again, now averaging 18.9 points a game to lead the Hawkeyes. Though Iowa fell in the second round of the Big Dance again, Uthoff emerged as a top-level contributor.

The Big Ten’s top scorer and shot blocker, Uthoff emerged so much that he was named a Second Team All-American, while also securing a place on the Big Ten’s All-Defense squad. He really developed into a national name after coming to Iowa City as more of an unknown than many other talented names in the Big Ten. He had quite the ride with the Hawkeyes, though he’s certainly not the last Iowa player we’ll see today.
