NCAA Basketball: 6 teams that should target Tennessee transfer Chris Ledlum
West Virginia Mountaineers
It’s well-known what has happened at West Virginia in the past month, as Bob Huggins is now gone, with five players leaving via the frontcourt. Three of them were forwards, including starter, Tre Mitchell. Right now, it’s wide open for anyone to take the starting power forward position.
Playing time certainly wouldn’t be a concern for Ledlum and he and Jesse Edwards would be a nice frontcourt duo. The problem is whether or not the former Harvard star wants to risk his final NCAA basketball season with an unproven HC in Josh Eilert. Plus, with Huggins now in a legal fight with the school, it may be too messy a situation for him to go to at the moment.
Xavier Musketeers
The Musketeers have suddenly gotten more active in the transfer portal due to losing forward Jerome Hunter, who is sidelined with a medical issue reportedly. The team didn’t have much forward depth to begin with, as both Zach Freemantle and North Texas transfer Abou Ousmane are better off playing the five-spot.
Regardless of how long Hunter is out, there’s a roster need for another frontcourt scoring threat to pair with the bigs inside. With so many mid-major transfer newcomers, Xavier could use another true scorer with experience. Ledlum would solve a number of issues for Coach Sean Miller and keep the team in the top half of what’s going to be a very tough Big East next season.
