6. Juan’ya Green

A 6’2 point guard from Philadelphia, Green began his collegiate career at Niagara back in 2011 under Joe Mihalich. He had two really fantastic seasons in the MAAC, leading the league in steals in both seasons. When Mihalich accepted the head coaching job at Hofstra, Green followed him, sitting out a year before starring in his offense again for two years in the CAA.

Back on the court as a junior, Green averaged 17.1 points and 6.5 assists and played a major role for the Pride in a 20-win season. He had a triple-double that season against LIU and had 26 points in Hofstra’s CAA Tournament loss to William & Mary. His numbers were just as impressive as a senior (17.8 points, 7.1 assists per game), as Green helped Hofstra to a CAA regular season title, though they had to settle for the NIT.

Green was First Team All-CAA for those two seasons, sitting among the best in points and assists. He was named CAA Player of the Year as a senior after helping take Hofstra to a regular season title and finishing with decent numbers and metrics across the board. Green was a major addition for Mihalich at Niagara and proved to be just as dominant running the point in the CAA as well.
