Ivy League Basketball: Ranking of 25 best players from last decade (2013-23)
By Joey Loose
20. Chris Knight
Dartmouth isn’t exactly known recently for winning basketball, but they had a very solid frontcourt piece in Knight. A 6’7 forward from Madison, Wisconsin, he made his way to New Hampshire back in 2017 and would spend the next three seasons with the Big Green, playing a significant role. His senior year after the pandemic came at Loyola-Chicago, but we’re just focusing on his time in the Ivy League.
As a freshman, Knight started a handful of games and averaged 10.1 points a game, making a decent jump into college ball. He had a few 27-point performances in the following seasons and was a more impactful scorer, averaging right around 15 points per game in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Not only was Knight taking steps forward, but Dartmouth’s win total improved each season.
Knight’s numbers and production don’t blow you away, but he was a really solid forward for the Big Green before his departure. He earned Second Team All-Ivy in those final two seasons at Dartmouth and sat among the conference’s leaders in points, steals, blocks, and field goal percentage. He did important work on both sides of the ball for the Big Green and his contributions were sorely missed after he transferred to Loyola.
