7. Jeremy Ingram

A 6’3 wing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Ingram found his home just north at North Carolina Central. He played four seasons under LeVelle Moton and was part of significant history for the Eagles. He helped lead the program into the MEAC in 2011 and to their first trip to the NCAA Tournament a season later. His career began in 2010, so we’re just looking at the senior year here.

Building on an impressive junior year, Ingram averaged 20.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a senior, hitting 37% of his 3-pointers. He led North Carolina Central to an impressive 28-6 record, a regular season MEAC title, and their first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. Among his highlights was a 37-point performance at Wichita State and putting up 29 points against Morgan State in the title game of the MEAC Tournament.

What North Carolina Central did that season was impressive and began a run of success in the MEAC, with Ingram serving in a starring role. He was named MEAC Player of the Year, leading the conference in points and finishing pretty high in a number of other categories. His contributions were significant towards North Carolina Central becoming a relative power in this league, and this was just the beginning. He absolutely deserves this spot even with us just looking at that senior year.
