RayJ Dennis – 6’2 Point Guard -Baylor Bears

RayJ Dennis took the MAC by storm over the past two seasons as a member of the Toledo Rockets this past season. He’ll look to bring his dynamic guard play in the backcourt into the fold for the Baylor Bears as they look to bounce back from a second-round exit in last year’s NCAA Tournament.

The 2022-23 MAC Player of the Year looks to bring his magic on the offensive side of the ball into the Baylor rotation in the Big 12. Dennis led the MAC this past season in both assists (202) and field goals made (265) while finishing sixth in the league in field goal percentage (48.4 percent) and his total of 718 points produced ranked at the top of the conference and seventh in the NCAA.

He led Toledo to its third-straight regular season MAC title before they fell short in the conference tournament against Kent State. He’ll look to turn things around to end his career with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

While Baylor is Dennis’ third stop, he brings a ton of playmaking to the table with an knack for scoring the ball efficiently as well. He notched a career-high 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the floor and 3-of-5 shooting from deep along with seven assists and two steals in an 87-81 victory over Ball State back on March 3.

Dennis certainly knows how to operate in the backcourt and brings a ton of potential to a rotation that returns just five players from a season ago. Ja’Kobe Walter and Miro Little will join as freshmen.

On the bright side, they also add Jayden Nunn, formerly of VCU, out of the portal. Nunn put up 9.3 ppg on 40.4 percent shooting from deep as the Rams ran the tables in the Atlantic 10 this past season. So he’ll certainly have other weapons to rely on despite being short on a ton of returning experience from last year’s squad.
