23. Darnell Edge

A 6’2 combo guard from Saugerties, New York, Edge found himself a home at Fairleigh Dickinson, spending all four of his collegiate seasons with the Knights in the NEC. It was quite the ride for Edge, who started off in 2015 and would become both a major contributor and postseason star for the Knights in the next four years.

Mostly used as a bench piece early in his career, Edge did great work as an upperclassman, averaging 14.5 points in a junior year that ended with a 23-point performance in an NEC Tournament loss to LIU. Everything would be far better the next season, as he’d lead the Knights to that NEC Tournament title. Edge averaged 16.6 points per game, shot 48% from outside the arc, and scored a career-high 33 points in a First Four win over Prairie View A&M during the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Edge earned Third Team All-NEC honors for that great step forward as a junior, but clearly senior year was the highlight. Not only was he First Team All-NEC, but he was named Tournament MVP and led the conference in shooting from all over the court. He was actually the nation’s best free throw shooter as a junior and continued those hot numbers, leading Fairleigh Dickinson to both a regular season and tournament title.
