20. Markelle Fultz

After starring at the famous DeMatha Catholic High School in his hometown of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Fultz hopped to the other coast. This 6’4 point guard was one of the top recruits in the nation and was a fantastic addition for Washington in 2016. Unfortunately, Lorenzo Romar’s program struggled mightily even while Fultz had an amazing year.

In what would be his only collegiate season, Fultz averaged 23.2 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Huskies. He topped 30 points in his first two collegiate games and flirted a few times with a triple-double. While Washington would only win nine games during a horrific performance, Fultz was a star on the court and the lone bright spot in what would be Romar’s final season leading the program.

Even with Washington finishing 11th in the Pac-12 standings, Fultz was named First Team All-Pac-12 and clearly established himself with a ton of potential. He was sixth in the nation in points per game, was one of the top assist guys in the Pac-12, and did plenty of good for himself in spite of his team’s struggles. As a result, this former 5-star recruit was taken with the 1st pick of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
