3. Jordan Burns

Burns is a 6’0 point guard from San Antonio who made his way from Texas to New York, starring for four years at Colgate beginning in 2017. He was a prolific scorer and excellent ball distributor and leader during his time with the Raiders, making multiple trips to the Big Dance before his time at Colgate was up.

Good for 11.9 points per game as a freshman, Burns would be at or near 16 points in each of his next three seasons, starring as both a scorer and distributor in the process. His sophomore season saw him average 16.3 points and 5.7 assists while finishing on a really high note, as Burns had 35 points in the Patriot League Tournament final and 32 points in a Tourney loss to Tennessee. He’d lead the Raiders to two more regular season titles and got a second shot at the Big Dance in 2021, finishing off a very impressive career.

Burns was actually named Patriot League Tournament MVP as both a sophomore and senior, keying those two trips to the Big Dance. He was also the conference’s Player of the Year in that final season, earning All-Patriot honors for a third straight campaign. He led the league in assists as a senior and was one of the league’s better free throw shooters throughout his career. Frankly, Burns did a lot of good stuff at Colgate and was clearly immensely impactful for this program and in this league.
