16. Johnathan Jordan

Jordan is a 5’10 point guard from Houston who would spend his entire collegiate career at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He originally joined the Islanders way back in 2011 and would be the starter at the point for nearly his entire career. There wasn’t much success for the team in his first two seasons, but luckily our focus today will only be on his upperclassman seasons.

For his junior year, Jordan helped lead a nice turnaround for the program, as Texas A&M-CC would finish 2nd in the Southland, winning 12 more games than the previous season. Jordan averaged 14.5 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game, playing a major role in that success. It included a career-high 28 points against Fort Wayne and a trip to the CIT. His numbers were even better as a senior, putting up 15.6 points and 5.2 assists a game, with the Islanders winning 20 games and making another trip to the CIT.

Jordan was named First Team All-Southland for those last two seasons, becoming one of the league’s top scorers and ball distributors. He finished 2nd in the league in assists both years and his 652 over his career is the highest mark in recent memory in the Southland. Jordan wasn’t just a phenomenal athlete, but he helped lead the Islanders on that turnaround in his final seasons with decent metrics on both sides of the court.
