11. Terrion Murdix

A 6’1 point guard from Springfield, Illinois, Murdix got his college start at nearby Mineral Area College in Missouri back in 2019. He’d get his chance at the D1 level two seasons later when he transferred to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Murdix became a very important piece of the puzzle in Steve Lutz’s program and his time under Lutz hasn’t come to an end quite yet.

He’d average 9.8 points and 3.9 assists per game as a junior, finding his role with the Islanders by the end of the season. He had a series of nice performances late in the year and helped lead them to a Southland Tournament title. His numbers as a senior were marvelous, putting up 13.4 points, 5.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals a night. Though he’d miss the tail end of the season, he lead the Islanders to a regular season title and they’d win another conference tournament title, though he was knocked out early with injury.

Murdix was the Tournament MVP as a junior and really found his footing late in that first season with the Islanders. Leading the league in assists and steals in both seasons, he was also named First Team All-Southland and Defensive Player of the Year in that senior season. Murdix was a major factor in this program scoring two straight trips to the NCAA Tournament. His final year of eligibility will be spent next season at Western Kentucky, joining Lutz who was hired by the Hilltoppers this offseason.
