Starter C – Isaac Jones

Graduate Senior: 2022-23 stats: 19.4 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 1.7 APG, 1.1 BPG, 62.9 FG% (At Idaho)

Reserves-Fr. Rueben Chinyelu, Jr. Oscar Cluff

The starting center position should be taken up by another newcomer to the program, Isaac Jones a 6-9 graduate student from the University of Idaho. He spent time at Wenatchee Valley Community College before dominating his lone season with the Vandals. The big man led a bad team in both scoring at 19.4 points per game and rebounding, grabbing 7.8 boards per contest, and could be a large force in the middle for the Cougars.

The depth behind Jones could give Washington State the opportunity to play a two-big lineup at times if they so choose. Rueben Chinyelu is a 6-11 245lb. four-star recruit from Nigeria by way of the NBA Academy who showed up on the radar after his performance at the 2022 Academy Games where he led the tournament in rebounding.

Behind them is Oscar Cluff who is joining the Cougars from Cochise Junior College where he dominated last season shooting an astonishing 78% from the field with over 18 points per game for a team that at one point won 27 straight games.

Like some of the other positions in the starting lineup, the man in the middle has a guy who has the potential to be very good for the Cougars, with some depth that is interesting yet inexperienced.
