USC Basketball: Projected starting lineup and depth chart for 2023-24 season
Point Guard
Starter – Isaiah Collier (20 mpg)
Isaiah Collier joins the USC Trojans in the Pac-12 over the UCLA Bruins, Michigan Wolverines and Cincinnati Bearcats to begin his college career. He’s out of Georgia powerhouse Wheeler High where he won three state titles and took home Mr. Georgia Basketball in 2023. He put up 19.6 ppg, 6.8 apg and 5.5 rpg in his final senior while earning McDonald’s All-American Game.
He’s a tremendous playmaker and scorer with a college-ready frame. He’s an electric guard who’s shown he can shoot the ball with range while still maintaining a presence as a floor general who can control the pace for the offense. He’s set to make quite the debut for the Trojans in the starting backcourt this upcoming year.
Bench – Bronny James/Boogie Ellis (20 mpg)
The best fit for Bronny James could be off the bench for the Trojans in 2023-24. He’s capable of operating at either guard spot and is another guard in their repertoire with a college-ready frame. They’ve got some versatility to work with with Kobe Johnson and D.J. Rodman. They could move Johnson to the shooting guard role and Rodman can play either forward spot. If James isn’t ready to go, Ellis should see a bulk of the minutes at the backup point guard spot with Rodman and Johnson becoming focal points.
