USC Basketball: Projected starting lineup and depth chart for 2023-24 season
Center/Forward
Starter – Joshua Morgan (25 mpg)
Joshua Morgan returns for the USC Trojans after playing quite the role at the center spot this past season. He’s a defensive anchor at 6-foot-11 who earned Pac-12 All-Defense honors as well this past season while posting 7.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 2.2 bpg on 58.2 percent shooting from the field.
He’s shown his growth over the past three seasons as a presence on the defensive end since joining the Trojans back in 2020-21. Morgan led the conference this past season in blocks with 63 and finished with a defensive rating 98.2. He should be quite the formidable presence in the frontcourt with D.J. Rodman roaming the paint alongside him this season.
Bench – Vincent Iwuchukwu (15 mpg)
Vincent Iwuchukwu is another big-man presence who should grow in the rotation after missing the team’s first 16 games in 2022-23. He still appeared in 14 games this past season though, posting 5.4 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.0 bpg on 50.9 percent shooting from the floor.
He’s another sizeable name at 7-foot-1 who should grow with a full season of health ahead of him. He’s shown flashes of his ability to play on both ends of the floor and could challenge Morgan for the starting job before it’s all said and done.
