NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 8 teams for 4-star PG Jase Richardson
Stanford Cardinal
There’s going to be a lot of new beginnings for the Cardinal besides moving to the ACC a year from now. From a roster standpoint, their backcourt will be changing as well. Providence transfer Jared Bynum has just one year left, along with senior wings, Michael and Spencer Jones. This is an option where Richardson can step in and be the focal point and have a nice career as a starter, while also getting a degree from the University.
USC Trojans
The Trojans know that they’re going to lose its two best guards after next season, as Boogie Ellis is entering his last year and No. 1 recruit Isaiah Collier is likely going pro. There’s no depth behind them, as the health status of Bronny James is still unknown. It would be an opportunity for Richardson to come in and get a key rotation spot early unless the program wants to add a veteran next offseason.
Virginia Cavaliers
The Cavaliers’ lone returning starter from last season is Reece Beekman, who could be moving on after his 4th year. Behind him is Georgetown transfer Dante Harris and four-star freshman Christian Bliss, who are both unproved at Virginia.
Richardson is the kind of athlete that Coach Tonny Bennett has been missing since his title run and he’d have a great chance at being the focal point of the offense. And from a coaching standpoint, he’s the only other on this list with a title besides Coach Izzo.
