Projected Starters

Guard – Jared Bynum (Senior)

After playing a major role at Providence for the last three years, Bynum is a grad transfer that takes over the point at Stanford this season. Bynum averaged 10.0 points and 4.3 assists per game last season, though his 3-point shooting numbers were down from his previous season. He’s the prized offseason addition for Haase, who throws an important weapon in a veteran point guard into the mix.

Guard – Michael Jones (Senior)

Following four years and three seasons playing at Davidson, Jones transferred last offseason to Stanford and played a decent role off the bench, averaging 9.5 points per game with decent shooting figures. Now, this talented wing is in his last season of eligibility and will carve out an even more vital role as a starter, especially if he has another great shooting season like he did with Davdison.

Forward – Spencer Jones (Forward)

Last season’s leading scorer is back, as Jones averaged 14.1 points and 4.7 rebounds, earning Second Team All-Pac-12 honors as a result. He’s seen time at both forward positions and continues to be an excellent shooter, making 39% of his 3-point attempts last season. He’ll be leaned on heavily again in his final collegiate season; he did have a hot end to the year with three 20-point games in his final five contests.

Forward – Brandon Angel (Senior)

A talented wing from San Diego, Angel enters his fourth season at Stanford and his second as a starter with the Cardinal. He put up 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in his first season in the starting lineup, making 39% of his 3-pointers. He’s gotten better as his career has gone along and was really developing as a shooter late last season; they’ll hope for another step forward in his senior season.

Forward – Maxime Raynaud (Junior)

Standing tall at 7’1, Raynaud is an imposing big from France who had decent production as a frontcourt starter last season. He was good for 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore last year but is still developing. Now an upperclassman, he’s definitely a player that could surprise if he can take that big step forward, especially after ending last season on a hot spurt, averaging double figures in February and March.
