facebooktwitterreddit

The NCAA tournament has found another upset as #11 NC State took down #6 San Diego State. In a game that went back in forth for the first half, the Wolfpack was able to hold the lead for the entire second and close out the Aztecs.

The Wolfpack had 4 guys get double digit scoring and was headlined by Richard Howell who scored 22 points.

However, the player of the game was Lorenzo Brown who had 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. He was making his presence known all over the offensive end. He was getting others involved and picking up tough rebounds even though he only measures in at 6’5.

The other players to break double-digits in scoring for the Wolfpack was Scott Wood and CJ Leslie.

The Aztecs received an impressive performance by Jamaal Franklin who had the game high of 23 points. He also picked up 8 rebounds and 2 assists. He was doing what he could to keep San Diego State in the game but could never quite catch up to the Wolfpack attack.

NC State’s last NCAA tournament win was in 2006 against California. A program that is striving to be back to prominence will now take on the winner of Georgetown or Belmont. That game tips of in a few minutes.
