The 2013 NIT Tournament field has been announced, as told to the masses during a selection shown live nationally on ESPNU. The tournament, which kicks off on March 19th, features a slew of big name programs, including defending NCAA Champion Kentucky.

John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats grabbed a No. 1 seed in the NIT field, in addition to Alabama, Virginia, and Southern Miss.

The tournament begins Tuesday on location, on the campus of the higher seeds, with exception of the Kentucky-Robert Morris game. Due to UK’s Rupp Arena playing host to the NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats will travel to Pittsburgh to play at Robert Morris.

From there, the teams will wind through the brackets, with the semifinals and finals being held at Madison Square Garden in New York on April 2nd and 4th.
