A few days ago, we wrote about Rodney Blackstock being investigated about his involvement with Kansas’ Ben McLemore. Well today, Big League Sports is reporting that the NCAA is also looking into his involvement with UNC’s PJ Hairston.

Hairston, who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently, following an arrest for possession of marijuana which was followed by the police finding a gun outside the rented car Hairston was driving. While that case remains open and unsolved, this new situation with the NCAA is only going to cause more headaches for the young Tar Heel.

As both Hairston and Blackstock come from Greensboro, NC, they have known each other for a very long time. It has been reported that Blackstock has operated as Hairston’s middle man for quite some time, so in order to talk to Hairston, you must go through Blackstock first. While that isn’t illegal provided that there is no money being exchanged hands, the NCAA has to be uncomfortable with their relationship because Blackstock is a licensed NBA agent.

There is no concrete evidence at the moment that there has been anything illegal or sketchy that has gone on between Hairston and Blackstock. The NCAA has not revealed what they are planning on looking into and if there will be any punishments handed down. Though between this probe and the McLemore saga, I am sure the NCAA is quickly tiring of hearing Blackstock’s name in the news and it would probably be in their best interest to find a way to get rid of him entirely.

What seems pretty certain right now is that Hairston must certainly be regretting not declaring for the NBA draft after how this summer has developed for him.
