After his visit to Kansas, swingman Kelly Oubre tweeted on Monday, October 7th, “Big News Tomorrow!!”. Whether or not it means that the 2014 recruit has arrived to a decision on his school choice remains to be seen but it has gotten the media talking.

At the moment, Oubre appears to be down to two schools, Kansas and Kentucky. The 6″6 wing already visited Kansas during their “Late night in the fog” event and loved it. He spoke with coach Bill Self during their visit and Oubre feels that he would definitely fit in with the Jayhawks.

While he has yet to visit the Kentucky Wildcats, he is set to go to the campus on October 18th. While the Wildcats have a lot of talented players on their current roster, many of them will be off to the NBA following this season. Oubre knows that his skill set would be needed immediately if he were to commit to UK.

“They just need to replace seven guys,” Oubre said of Kentucky. “They need some more wings. They pretty much need to fill every spot. They’re recruiting a heavy class again this year and thats what they’re going to continue to do.”

Though there has been no indication to who the favorite is, both schools could use Oubre’s talent. He is a quick and explosive guard who will have no trouble filling the bucket. With both schools looking like they will need to replenish their wing depth for 2014, it looks like Kentucky and Kansas are once again in a clash for a top recruit.
