The UCLA Bruins have as much history as a college basketball power as anyone on the block. Still, it has been a long time since John Wooden was doing Wooden like things for the program. It hasn’t stopped fans, alum or media members, however, from thinking about them being super-duper awesome again. To be fair — really, to be fair to Ben Howland — they have made the Final Four during their previous era and it’s not like they disappeared off the face of the college basketball planet.

There is a new era at UCLA now. Gone Howland and in his place is Steve Alford — who has some of his own baggage at his side. Regardless, he has the Bruins off to a great start and ready to attempt to whoop on the Missouri Tigers.

Should I Be Watching?

This is a battle of two unbeatens. So, um, yeah. You should probably watch this game for that alone. That’s not even mentioning the fact that both of these teams are pretty good and that UCLA’s monumental expectations are on Alford’s shoulders since day one. Let’s see if he can handle them all year, shall we?
