The Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels have one of the best rivalries in all of sports. Because of that often times we get too excited for their games (if that is possible), lose perspective on the team’s records or make each time they face feel like a hyperbolic moment that somehow swings the balance of either program.

The rivalry transcends just the players on the court. It is even a bigger deal than  just the coaches involved. This historic rivalry has even made its way to the managers of each program.

You see, each year Duke and North Carolina let their equipment managers play each other in a game of hoops. Sounds like harmless, unadulterated fun, right? Wrong.

Bows would be tossed. A scuffle had to be had. All in the name of protecting the rim, grabbing a board and the hatred of another school. Or, you know, because these managers are ultra competitive.

Here is to hoping, at least for students of both schools, no one involved in this scuffle is in charge of keeping your dormitory in check.

We also hope the real game is this tense. Which it should be.
