Seton Hall upsets Villanova on last second fall away jumper (video)

Just a few hours after the DePaul Blue Demons did something they tend not to do (win a game), the Seton Hall Pirates just added some more magical moments to the first go-around of the new version of the Big East Tournament.

In a battle that the Pirates largely dominated, Villanova made a wild comeback towards the end of the game. Which is usually a good thing. The underdog running out of steam, a top ranked team in the nation with all the momentum, but then magic happened. The magic here being Sterling Gibbs.

Seton Hall won the game with that fall away jumper as time expired (obviously).

The St. John’s Red Storm are set to face the Providence Friars next. With the winner of these two facing the Pirates in the Big East Tournament Seminal. Which means one of those three teams are going to be in the final of the conference tournament. Not a thing many people had projected before the tournament began.

As for Seton Hall, the win is huge and all, it even buys Kevin Willard some wiggle room with fans, but it is actually next year that their program is expected to become more relevant. But just don’t tell that to them now, as the Pirates are already helping March become insane in the membrane.
