There might not be any faith left in Frank Haith hashtags running a muck by Missouri Tigers fans, but that doesn’t mean hope is all but lost. Really, it just means that a new head coach has to be found and the program — who reportedly had Haith on a short leash anyway — needs to replace him. However, I don’t think anyone saw Tim Floyd as a strong candidate coming.
Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports that UTEP head coach, Tim Floyd, has emerged as a top-tier choice by Missouri.
With coaches like Ben Howland still floating around, it is a little puzzling that another major program would give a guy like Floyd another shot at a major program.
That’s not because he is a horrible coach. In his 20 years as the main-man-in-charge, Floyd has amassed an impressive 408-233 record. It has more to do with the perception of him being as likable a guy to fans as Pennywise the Clown is to children.
Regardless, it doesn’t mean Floyd has the job yet. It just means, as if we needed more proof, that we all float down here.
