Larry Brown and the SMU Mustangs are having a really swell offseason. First, SMU didn’t lose Larry Brown to Brown’s usual nomadic behavior, and Brown is continuing to be a force on the recruiting trail. His latest scoop was his second for the 2015 recruiting class, as reports have surfaced that top 100 prospect, Matt McQuaid, has committed to SMU.

Hailing from (Tim?)Duncanville, Texas, McQuaid has a scouting report that reads like a player that would fit perfect in a Larry Brown system. According to several recruiting service websites, Matt McQuaid is a consistent shooter. Really, with my incredible ability to read between the lines, it looks like Matt McQuaid would certainly make the Space Jam 2 roster.

All kidding aside, this is another huge get for the 73-year-old Brown.

The 6’5″ McQuaid will join point guard Sedrick Barefield as the two current 2015 SMU commitments.

With SMU being snubbed by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee this past season, it will be hard for them to continue to ignore the Mustangs, even if they play in The American — which is actually a way better conference than we previously gave it credit for.
