What-if scenarios are always fun to think about, especially when considering something as vital as the national title game. Many times, some of the greatest heartbreaks come after getting to the final game of the season. Getting to the national title game is only half the battle, some times.

Look no further than the Butler Bulldogs, who made it to back-to-back title games, their only two in school history, yet have little to show for it in terms of banners.

Maybe unsurprisingly, the Duke Blue Devils are the joint top team in the standings. Similarly, the Kansas Jayhawks find themselves with six titles, capped by their most recent appearance in 2012 against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Perhaps most surprising is the third team on the list in the Michigan Wolverines. Obviously, the Fab Five made it to back-to-back title games and lost, but five times without a title is certainly frustrating for present-day Michigan fans.

What team do you find most surprising on this list? Dartmouth? Bradley? What about surprisingly low like UCLA, who apparently only wins titles when they get to the title game? Let us know in the comments below.
