The 2020 NCAA basketball offseason is now already a couple of months complete. Which programs have been the biggest winners so far?

The NCAA basketball offseason has flown by to this point as it has already been two whole months since the ball stopped bouncing on the 2019-20 season. With the transfer market flooded with talent and some late 2020 recruiting commitments, there has already been a ton of roster movement ahead of this upcoming campaign. While many programs have experienced key losses, there are others, however, that have greatly improved their rosters.

These “winners” of the offseason are largely those that have secured the best transfers available, whether that be in the form of sit-outs or graduates. Either way, the coaching staffs at these respective schools deserve to be lauded for raising their prospects for the future. Additionally, though, some mid-major programs could be deemed winners by being able to retain top talents that could have easily moved to a powerhouse.

This piece will dive into 10 of the programs that should rank among the nation’s biggest winners through two months of the offseason. There are, of course, dozens of candidates to be mentioned on this list, but these are the ones that I believe to be coming out of the offseason either vastly improved or better than expected.

Here is a quick disclaimer before diving in, though: Class of 2021 commitments could certainly be viewed as major wins of this offseason, but they were not taken into account for this piece. That is due to the idea that it is still rather early in the 2021 recruiting season and de-commitments are more likely to occur than with the transfer/2020 recruiting additions of the first few months of this offseason.

Now, without any further ado, let’s dive into analyzing 10 of the biggest winners of the early offseason. This list is not in any particular order.
