Breaking News: Perry Jones Suspended by the NCAA

facebooktwitterreddit

Uh-oh boys and girls. We’ve got yet another possible big story on our hands, and it’s not a good one if you’re a fan of the Baylor Bears.

There are multiple reports surfacing that all-world freshman, Perry Jones, has been suspended by the NCAA for tonight’s Big 12 tourney game against Oklahoma because of possible NCAA violations, and the suspension could be for the rest of the season.

Those violations? You guessed it: improper benefits.

Per Yahoo Sports’ Jason King‘s Twitter account:

"Source tells Yahoo Perry Jones has been suspended 4 remainder of season by NCAA 4 allegedly accepting imp. bennies. Baylor working on appeal.”"

Not good. Not good at all. Of course, it remains to be seen exactly what these improper benefits were. If Baylor is already working on the appeal, then maybe it’s something that they believe isn’t that bad. But hey, given everything that has gone on in college sports the last few days (I’m looking at you, Jim Tressel), who knows at this point.

We’ll see what other details come out of this. For now though, all I gotta say is I’m extremely glad I didn’t pick Baylor to win the Big 12 tournament this week in Kansas City.
