2011 Slam Dunk Champion Jacob Tucker Can Jump Pretty High
By Blake Lovell
For those of you who missed the 2011 NCAA Slam Dunk Contest last night in Houston, you missed a pretty good show.
Specifically, a pretty good show put on by Illinois College’s Jacob Tucker. Yes, Illinois College is a D3 school in Jacksonville, Illinois. But ladies and gentlemen, Tucker is no D3 athlete.
He had to put together this nice little video below in order to get considered for this year’s competition, and after watching this, it’s pretty obvious as to why he was included in the festivities.
The guy is 5’11” and has a 50 inch vertical. See for yourself:
Not too bad, huh? Some of those dunks were just incredible. The one where he comes from behind the backboard particularly caught my eye. That was just fantastic. As were pretty much all the rest of the dunks in this video.
You can YouTube him and find plenty of more exciting stuff like this.
I’m not saying that he would beat him, but if we had a NCAA vs. NBA dunk competition between Tucker and Blake Griffin, I’d say a few people would watch that.
