Recruiting News: Kentucky Adds First 2012 Recruit in Archie Goodwin

facebooktwitterreddit

The words “Calipari” and “recruiting” have pretty much always gone hand in hand. But there was a little worry about that particular combination for 2012, as up until now, the Kentucky Wildcats had no commitments for next season.

Well, that’s over now as Archie Goodwin, who is probably the best shooting guard in the class, has officially committed to Kentucky.

Just like pretty much everyone is doing these days, Goodwin announced his decision last night on Twitter.

So if you were holding out hope that perhaps Calipari had lost his touch, and that Kentucky would start heading back down the ranks, think again.

As mentioned in the story, Kentucky could very well add another recruit by the end of the day, with Perry Ellis deciding between Kentucky and three schools in his home state, Kansas, Kansas State, and Wichita State.

Oh, and then they could potentially add guys like Shabazz Muhammed and Alex Poythress. And there’s plenty of more you could throw in there.

Here’s a video from HoopsMixTape.com that shows the explosiveness of Goodwin:

We’ll see if Ellis decides to follow him to Lexington. Even if he doesn’t, there’s no need for Big Blue Nation to worry about anything.

The commitments have only just begun.
