2012 Edition of the Carrier Classic to Feature UConn vs. Arizona
By Blake Lovell
The Carrier Classic concept is a pretty awesome one. Get two college basketball teams together and let them play on a real aircraft carrier. How cool is that?
North Carolina will take on Michigan State in the first ever carrier game this November, and now we know who will play in the 2012 edition of the event.
CBSSports.com reports that UConn and Arizona will square off in next year’s game, which is yet another fantastic matchup for this event. UNC vs. Michigan State and UConn vs. Arizona? Not too bad of a start for this unique concept.
This will certainly be a different kind of experience for the players and coaches involved, but it’s one that I’m sure everyone will enjoy.
ESPN’s Andy Katz wrote a cool story detailing the preparations that are going into the game between North Carolina and Michigan State on November 11. You should definitely check it out if you haven’t already.
There’s no doubt that this one will be one of the more memorable season openers in college basketball history.
