Texas A&M Head Coach Billy Kennedy Diagnosed With Parkinson’s Disease

Some unfortunate news surrounding the Texas A&M program today, as head coach Billy Kennedy discussed the reasoning behind a recent leave of absence from the team.

Kennedy announced that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and is currently dealing with the early stages of it.

It doesn’t sound like there is a specific timetable for when Kennedy could return to coach the Aggies.

But of course, as with most diseases such as this one, it’s good that the doctors caught this early so that he can start taking the necessary steps towards fighting it.

With expectations high for this team entering the season, it would be great to see Kennedy back with the team very soon. For a coach, the camaraderie with the players and assistants is one of the most enjoyable parts of the job, and I’m sure Kennedy is anxious to get back to that as soon as possible.

Especially considering that this is his first year as coach of the Aggies, and he certainly has a team that he can be successful with this season.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Kennedy and wish him a speedy recovery.
