Oklahoma State Women’s Basketball Coaches Killed In Plane Crash
By Blake Lovell
A news story like this is one that you never want to have to write about. You just never expect something like this to happen.
But unfortunately, there’s some tragic news in the world of college basketball today, as Oklahoma State women’s head coach Kurt Budke and assistant coach Miranda Serna have been killed in a plane crash in Arkansas.
The pilot and one additional passenger also passed away in the crash.
What an awful story. I can’t imagine what the families are going through right now, so there’s no way to even express in words what they must be feeling. Budke has three children, which makes this even sadder.
We all remember the unfortunate events that took place at Oklahoma State 10 years ago, where a plane crash took the lives of 10 people involved with the men’s basketball program.
For something like this to happen again is simply unbelievable.
Sometimes it is impossible to make sense of a situation, and without a doubt, this is one of those situations.
From all of us here at Busting Brackets, our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of Budke and Serna, as well as the Oklahoma State players who are dealing with this tragic loss.
