Another Victim Comes Forward In the Bernie Fine Case
By Blake Lovell
This whole situation surrounding Bernie Fine is not going to end anytime soon. It’s just not.
The accusations are too strong against the former Syracuse assistant coach, and although no local charges were made against him, this whole deal is far from over.
Case in point, a fourth alleged victim has come forward, claiming that Fine first sexually abused him over 40 years ago when he was 16 years of age.
Here’s a little blurb from The Post-Standard story:
"The Syracuse man, who is serving 16 years to life for repeatedly burglarizing homes in Central New York, told The Post-Standard Wednesday in an hourlong prison interview that the fired SU coach took him in as an orphan and sexually abused him."
Those are pretty rough allegations. But if you read down a little further in the story, there is more graphic detail as to what VanHooser is alleging.
It should also be noted that VanHooser claims that there was a sexual incident with Fine as recent this summer.
Who knows where all of this is heading. But the more alleged victims that come forward, the longer it could take for all the evidence to come out one way or the other.
We’ll see if these new allegations shed any more light on this situation.
